Mutiara hadis UiTM

JOYFUL NEWS to my Muslim brothers and sisters in Malaysia

Hard to find Saheeh Hadith (authentic hadiths) in Malay (Bahasa Melayu)? Not anymore! If you are really looking for authentic hadiths in Malay, do not hesitate to go to this website:

Koleksi Hadis Sahih UiTM
(UiTM’s Authentic Hadith Collection in Malay Language)
http://www.tmsk.uitm.edu.my/~ir/webhadis/

I have been looking for the noble Malay translation (database) for so long. In fact, there are a few Malay-Malaysian and many Malay-Indonesian translations available in book stores, however, due to some differences in the vocabularies and word structures, the Indonesian version may not be easy to comprehend, while the Malaysian translations are scarce and hard to find.

I really want to thank Fakulti Teknologi maklumat & Sains Kuantitatif (Faculty of Information Technology & Quantitative Sciences), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and those involve in this Mutiara Hadis authentic collection (IRDC, Pusat Pendidikan Islam UiTM, FTSM UKM, Saba Islamic Media, JAKIM, etc.). Whether you realized it or not, you guys had made such a great contribution to the society. May Allah bless you people.

O Allah please bless this man.. Ustaz Shamsuri Ahmad

I have been listening to his lectures since 1997. And I am still listening once in a while. Who is this guy that I claim to have so much admiration for his lectures? Since I never met him in person nor attended his lectures. His name is Shamsuri Ahmad, unfortunately I don’t have and couldn’t find his biography. According to my limited knowledge, he is a religious teacher of Penang origin. He actively gives Islamic lectures at many places in the northern region of West Malaysia (Penang, Kedah and Perlis). He is well known as “Ustaz Shamsuri” among Malays and was awarded Dato’ship somewhere last year.

I have heard many lectures delivered by many Islamic preachers in Malaysia. Honestly I think he is one of the best preachers we ever had in this century. And I thank Allah, our mighty God for that. His choice and arrangement or words are good, easy to understand and the points he wants to deliver are always reachable to my brain. Since his lectures would have been for the predominantly Malay speaking community, so he used Bahasa Melayu (Malay language) with an interesting Penang accent. I like his accent by the way.

Being a good Muslim, does not secure him from being slandered or dislike. Let me not elaborate those bad experiences. He handled it very well alhamdulellah.

To those who like to backbite and slander, Islam prohibits such acts.

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, in deeds some suspicions are sins. And spy not neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear God, verily, God is the one who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.

[al-Hujuraat 49:12]

Lastly I wish him, Dato’ Shamsuri Ahmad, all the best. His lectures do leave a trace in my heart. May Allah bless him and his family and those who listen to his lectures.

What is the problem with Yahoo?

From my blogspot:
I was not able to sign in my Yahoo Messenger almost two weeks now. I don’t know why. I’m using Celcom Broadband, wireless. There is no problem with Windows Live messenger. I checked my firewall and Kaspersky antivirus. No problem with the settings. Anyway I already wrote a feedback to Celcom and Yahoo Help Central, and now waiting for an explanation.
January 17, 2009 (1:49 PM)

I received a call from Celcom on 19 January 2009 confirming that Yahoo did have serious technical problems, which affected many YM users all over the world. Thanks Celcom for your info. I believe that because even using a different computer with a different network, I still couldn’t sign in my YM. I managed to sign in once on the 19th late in the afternoon but failed to sign in again after I signed out. Aargh… I hate this!

Yahoo did respond to my inquiry. They replied this:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

We’re sorry you have had difficulty accessing Yahoo!. The error you received is typically caused by unusual activity from either your computer or your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to Yahoo!. While this type of problem is usually transient, if you continue to experience this error, we recommend that you try the following suggestions:

1) If you have not scanned your computer for spyware and viruses, we strongly recommend that you do so now. Spyware programs can change your system settings, serve pop-ups, record your surfing habits, or display advertisements over web sites you visit. Other spyware programs and certain computer viruses will run separate programs on your computer for a variety of purposes, sometimes slowing your computer down in the process, and even preventing you from accessing certain Internet sites such as Yahoo!.

For detailed information on virus protection, please visit:

For detailed information on spyware, please visit:

Yahoo! Toolbar versions 5.5 and above contain Anti-Spy, a spyware and adware remover. To install Yahoo! Toolbar and run Anti-Spy, please visit:

http://toolbar.yahoo.com/

Yahoo! Toolbar with Anti-Spy is absolutely free.

2) Please also make sure that your web browser is enabled to accept cookies from Yahoo!. Deleting your cookies can contribute to your receiving this error. Please refer to your browser’s help section for how to make sure your cookies are enabled.

3) If you have scanned your system for spyware and viruses, enabled all cookies, and continue to experience this problem, we recommend that you contact your ISP and let them know you are experiencing connectivity problems with Yahoo!. You may have difficulty accessing Yahoo! if we detect unusual network traffic coming from your ISP. Only your ISP will be able to address and resolve this abnormal activity.

4) You may want to try accessing Yahoo! through a different computer or through a different Internet connection.

We hope this is resolved for you soon so that you may continue to use Yahoo!.

Regards,

I’m not happy with Yahoo, seriously, perhaps for now. For the time being I use Windows Live Messenger.

Buy Nestle Last… Bye Bye Nestle

Nestle is obviously a pro-Israel company. Its investments in Israel’s food maker Osem and Maabarot, as well as the establishment of Nestle Research Center in Sderot, Israel, enough to tell how serious their support goes. So for my personal boycott, I’m starting with Nestle and all its affiliated products.
<br />

I still have Nescafe 3 in 1 regular at home. A few more sachets left to finish. I’ll buy Nestle NO more and switch to another brand. Enough is enough. Bye bye Nestle.

My forever support to Boycott Israel Campaign

Israel’s aggression against Palestinian seems to be a never ending story. It hurts me too much, in which I will never forgive. Israel is supported by those ‘giants’ America and Britain, as well as many big entities in Europe.

Furthermore Muslims are far from united. That’s why Israel can survive. Enough to say that Muslims are almost powerless against them, as far as politics and military are concern, perhaps at this time.

What I learned, a big building can collapse if its support pillars are removed. Therefore boycotting Israel’s products and those supporting them could probably the best thing to do right now, if we really want to fight the injustice.

There are so many pro-Israel companies searchable in the internet. An effortless one can be found at Innovative Minds UK.

Wan Seagar is now married..

When Wan Seagar called and asked me to attend his wedding in Alor Star,
immediately I told him I will. Kulim to Alor Star is about 1.25 hours. So I won’t blow the chance to see the great moment. Wan Seagar is a very good friend of mine, although we seldom see each other. When he asked me to become one of the guys to carry his tray of gifts, I said okay although I wasn’t sure I like to be one. He said I’ll be given a traditional garment such as Baju Melayu and samping. Whereas the songkok, I’ll buy on my own, since I’m the only one knows about the size of my head.

His wedding was to be held on 19th December (Friday), so I took leave on
18-19th December. I stayed at my friend’s apartment in Sultanah Bahiyyah Hospital. My friend, Widad is a medical doctor there. He helped me to search for the address.

During the big day, I wear black Malay garment, which I haven’t wear for almost 10 years. Hmm.. seems I look like a groom.. hehe. We went to a mosque where the ‘akad was to be held. Finally he got wed.

My hearty congratulations and best wishes for your marriage, Wan Seagar! May Allah bless you and your wife, and may you live happily ever after!

I’m back…

Assalam’alaikum and a very good day to everyone on this planet.

Guess what… I’M BACK!

Yeah, I changed my mind for many reasons. I’m back in SPACES and at the same time I will not leave my blogspot.

So shall I say… JUMPA LAGI.

I moved to blogspot..

Salam and good day to everyone

This is my last chapter in SPACES. Thanks for dropping by or reading my blog.

A lot of people criticized spaces.live as being pretty heavy and very unfriendly to those having slow internet connections. Well, I could have agreed more than 120 percent. For that reason I moved to blogspot and transferred some of my articles in my new blog.

Kaspersky Antivirus – it’s time to be a legal user

Who wants to buy an antivirus if it is expensive and valid for only a year? Free antivirus software maybe the only option for those on a limited budget. But we still don’t know how well these free antivirus protect our computers. What scares me is that new viruses might be the
financial interest of some commercial antivirus vendors. So which antivirus should we trust? Perhaps, none!

There are many free antivirus software available online such as AVG Free Edition, Avast 4 Home Edition, AntiVir Personal Edition Classic and many more. I had tried AVG Free at my office. No so good (compared to Symantec). The other two Avast and AntiVir, I have no idea about their performance. Just put it this way – you may ask your neighbour to look after your house when you are not around, they might care. But they will care more if you pay them. Simple mathematics. It’s still our choice. We need to define what we actually want from an antivirus software. To me, I prefer the purchased over the free one.

I used to be an illegal user of commercial antivirus software when I was a student. Used cracks for obtaining the license code. As a Muslim, where honesty is important, I pity myself for that. For that reason, I bought Kaspersky Antivirus (Version 7.0) and be part of the
legal antivirus community.

Why I chose Kaspersky?

Kaspersky Lab has set up a regional office in Malaysia:

Since Kaspersky Lab opened its regional office in Petaling Jaya, Selangor in April 2008, Kaspersky Antivirus can be purchased directly from many computer shops in Malaysia (many users including me hesitate to purchase online). Through Kaspersky (Malaysia), Kaspersky will recruit more partners to target business segment such as retail, mobile phone, internet services and a few more, for supporting its South East Asian market.

Secondly, since the year 2006, Kaspersky still on top of the ranking.

Thirdly, the price in Malaysia is reasonable.

The retail price of Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0 (1 year license for 1 PC) in Malaysia is RM69 (USD21) and I bought it for RM60 (USD18). This is much cheaper compared to the retail price in US, UK, Australia or India, where its price is tagged at USD59 (RM192), GBP16 (RM104), AUD55 (RM173) and Rp1678 (RM127) respectively. While in China, Kaspersky offers KAV 7.0 free of charge to Chinese users (free license key for 1 year) as a social campaign to relieve people affected by snow disaster.

The most important for a Muslim – BE A LEGAL USER.

Important:
To Kaspersky Lab and other antivirus vendors, price reduction is greatly welcome if you want to see more people joining legal antivirus community.
